How Do I Get A Free Review Of My Site

So you built a new site and you have no idea whether it is any good. What do you do to find out where your site ranks, broken links, nofollow attributes and various other components that will give you in-depth insight.

A free website review can be done by using free online tools and a website like Exposure Ninja will review your site for free. They will send you a thirty-minute video explaining how you can make improvements to your site. Moreover, the review will show you key mishaps on your website that the site builder may have overlooked. Free online website audits and broken link checkers will send you a list of tests you passed or failed. This is a constructive way in which you can find technical and visual issues within your website.

What is a site audit and why do I need it?

If you already know the answer to this question, then just skip on ahead. For those of you wondering why you should waste your time with a website review then here goes.

You see a site audit is much more than just constructive criticism. If you have launched a new site with many, many posts, then you may have overlooked some technical issues that are stopping your site from getting ahead faster.

With an SEO background, even I overlook some critical errors on-site so an audit can help even a self-proclaimed pro needs an extra pair of proverbial eyes.

I do not recommend site audits so that you will get some magical traffic boost in the SERPS but broken links, no-follow attributes and faulty redirects can and will make you look bad in the eyes of bots and viewers.

No need to over stress about these issues and you can do your own quick fixes for the extravagant amount of free.

How to get an almost instant site audit free

The most notorious auditing websites are Moz, Ahrefs and SEMrush.

I like all these websites for finding broken links, links that have no anchor text, and so much more.

You will not need to pay a dime for an audit and there are no hidden costs if you use their free tools.

The downside to this story is that SEMrush does have an auditing limit. There will always be limitations if you use something for free.

Still it is good to have your site crawled for minor issues you can quickly fix.

These websites are great for check-ups because that is all the free versions are good for. Do not waste your money on their keyword research tools and if you want to know why then this post I wrote on How To Do Keyword Research (For Beginner Bloggers and Beyond).

What are some sites that will send you a review done by actual people

Ever heard of User Testing? Well, before you look away, the site does, in fact, have a free trial option for anyone with a website.

On the flip side of User Testing is Userbrain, which is for webmasters getting their websites reviewed for interaction analysis.

Userbrain is a testing site that will let you see how a person interacts with your website. If they have any confusion, questions or maybe they find something that does not work on-site, you will get feedback accordingly.

You can sign up today and put your site up for review.

Design Critiques by designers on Reddit

With over 60,000 members someone is bound to comment on your work.

The best part is that the comments made are quite constructive. They will actually give you feedback and not a two-lined sentence that will just confuse you.

It is free and try it now if you are interested.

If you are wondering whether or not the overall theme and design of your site is visually appealing then put up your site for some Reddit Critiques.

Below is a screenshot of a critique I read and this is just an example of how they will answer your questions.

How to get a thirty-minute in-depth video review of my website

Exposure Ninja is the way to go! I have had my site reviewed by them, and they did a thorough job of identifying actionable fixes for my site. Although I do breath SEO, a fresh perspective is always handy.

You will have to go their official website and then take a 5-minute survey. The survey is primarily for then to understand where your website is right now. Then they will send you a 30-minute video recording via your email explaining exactly what you can do to make improvements on-site and off-site.

It may take up to a week for your review to come through due to the volume of review requests they get on a regular bases.

After the review video you can get a thirty minute call with Mark Rowland for further digital marketing advice.

I do think that humans can do better reviews than crawlers and bots.

Check out their YouTube video on the subject. Honestly this is a premium review for free!

UsabilityHub testing for free

Have you ever looked at a page or part of a page on your site and wondered if it was on point? UsabilityHub will allow you to have your site reviewed for the five-second test.

Five seconds is great for seeing instant onsite design and colour issues your site may have. It is free and it is just another way to help you optimise your website.

What the five second test does:

  • a tester will judge what they would take away from your site in the first five seconds
  • a tester will see how other pages on your site are interacting with your site
  • a tester will measure the overall design of your site

How they work:

  • after viewing your site for five seconds a participent will answer questions
  • before the test participants will be given key points to look out for to answer questions accordingly

How you can use the five second test (first impressions):

  • find out what is the purpose of a page?
  • what are the main elements recalled?
  • what is the intended audience?
  • does the design or brand seem trustworthy?
  • what did they think of the design?

Final thoughts

You do not need to use each and every website tester but as you need certain feedback you can try out each one accordingly.

I hope this helps and if you feel really stuck in the mud try Exposure Ninja because they do criticise kindly. Mark Rowland may even send you an email asking if you want your review done sooner.

Good luck my fellow website comrades!
